Using the Dimplex Portable HEPA Air Purifier in your Home

Dust, pet fur, pollen and other pollutants can be an absolute nightmare in the home. They can cause problems for those with allergies, aggravate the symptoms of pre-existing breathing conditions and even affect skin problems. As well as this, bad odors from cooking, pets or tobacco smoke can also cause problems with the air in the home.

Whilst you can protect yourself from pollutants outside of the home, it is not so easy to do so inside. This is, however, without the help of an air purifier. An air purifier works by absorbing pollutants from the air in your home, giving you cleaner air to breath. The benefits are huge. We have chosen to review the Dimplex Portable HEPA Air Purifier to see if it is worth investing in.

Pros:

  • It has a stylish design so wouldn’t look out of place in a modern home.
  • It has a combined HEPA and activated carbon filter for maximum results.
  • Unique Viro3 ionisation technology for reducing airborne allergens.
  • Easy to use.

Cons:

  • May not be powerful for very large rooms.
  • Slightly more expensive than average.

Our Review

Starting out, this air purifier from Dimplex has been designed very well indeed. One thing that we have noticed with a lot of air purifiers is that they tend to look a little out of place. This isn’t the case with this one, it looks stylish and modern so would be easily placed anywhere in the home without standing out.

Upon taking the unit out of the box, it was simply a matter of plugging it in and switching it on. Once we did this, we took a look at the different settings. Along the right hand side of the unit, you will see a switch which will allow you to switch between the high and low fan speeds. That is as complicated as this unit gets.

After a couple of uses, there were a few points that we’d like to pick up on. Firstly, we were impressed by the amount of dust and allergens collected on the filter itself. It had collected a lot within a short amount of time. Another thing that we really liked was that it has a neon overheating indicator. We found this to be really useful and a feature that most other air purifiers didn’t have.

The fact that the unit is freestanding is another plus point. We found the unit to be lightweight and easy to move around from room to room. The main plus point of this air purifier is just how simple it is to use. There are no complicated features or settings to figure out, so we were able to get the best results possible with little to no stress.

For a mid-range air purifier, we were really impressed with this one. It has a sleek, stylish design, basic controls, and is incredibly effective at removing allergens from the home. We really noticed a difference in the quality of the air within the home after just a few uses.

If you can afford to spend a little extra money, then this is one air purifier that will deliver in terms of results.
